Sean Dyche insists he will be the man to drive Burnley’s hunger to return to the Premier League.
The Clarets boss used his pre-match press conference ahead of the Stoke game to clear up speculation surrounding his own future, which came to light at Hull in the wake of relegation.
Dyche, who refused to be drawn last weekend after being quizzed on his position, insisted: “My story is not bigger than the club’s.
“We had just come out of the Premier League and a reporter asked me and I just said it’s not relevant – and it’s not.
“I am the manager and a custodian of the football club and it will move forward and I will move forward with it.
“We are planning in the summer and beyond that into next season.
“But we had just got relegated from the Premier League and I was like’ what have I got to do with this at this moment?’.”
