Burnley Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Norwegian international midfielder Fredrik Ulvestad on a three-year deal, subject to clearance.
The 22-year-old free agent, who recently spent time training with the Clarets, has agreed a deal at Turf Moor until the summer of 2018 after choosing not to renew terms at hometown side Aalesunds FK.
Ulvestad made 106 appearances in the Norwegian Tippeligaen, scoring 14 goals in the process.
During his time at the Color Line Stadion, he also made eight appearances in the UEFA Europa League qualifiers and contributed two goals.
The central midfielder, whose younger brother Pål Erik Ulvestad plays for Molde FK, made 14 U21 appearances on the international scene and two appearances for the U23 side before his emerging talent saw the senior side stand up and take notice.
He made his full Norway debut in August 2014, in a goalless draw against the United Arab Emirates in Stavanger.
His availability after the domestic campaign in Norway had ended alerted many top European clubs, and several German Bundesliga sides were known to be seeking his signature.
However, after expressing a desire to move to England and spending time in East Lancashire and featuring in Development Squad fixtures, he opted to join the Clarets.
