A round-up of how our loan players fared this weekend.
Clarets duo Alex Cisak and Luke O’Neill both started for League One side Leyton Orient, in their 3-1 victory against Port Vale at Brisbane Road.
Goalkeeper Cisak played the full 90 minutes while defender O’Neill was replaced by club captain Nathan Clarke.
In league Two, Accrington Stanley and Jason Gilchrist were defeated 2-0 on Friday night to play-off hopefuls Newport County.
Striker Gilchrist made a late appearance in attack, replacing Matt Crooks five minutes from time.
Midfielder Steven Hewitt joined Vanarama Conference Premier side Southport last Thursday on an emergency months-loan.
And it was a winning start for the 21-year-old, who came on as a substitute with 15-minutes to play in their 2-1 victory over Torquay United.
