Loan Watch

23 March 2015

A round-up of how our loan players fared in the Football League this weekend.

Danny Lafferty played the full 90 minutes for Rotherham United as they fell to a 2-3 home defeat against Sheffield Wednesday in a pulsating encounter.

Kieran Lee’s last-gasp strike saw the visitors take the South Yorkshire bragging rights in a result that leaves the Millers 21st in the Sky Bet Championship, just five points above Wigan Athletic.

In Sky Bet League One, Clarets loan pair Alex Cisak and Luke O’Neill both got another valuable 90 minutes under their belt, but were unable to prevent a narrow 1-0 defeat away to fellow strugglers Crawley Town.

The result leaves Fabio Liverani’s side 22nd in the table as they bid to avoid the drop into the third tier.

Young striker Jason Gilchrist was a late substitute in Accrington Stanley’s 2-2 draw against York City at the Store First Stadium.

Gilchrist replaced Terry Gornell in the 86th minute after Stanley had twice come from behind to gain a point.
