A team of eight runners from Turf Moor will hit the streets of Burnley this Sunday in aid of Pendleside Hospice.
The club’s commercial team have been gearing up, along with around 2,500 charity runners, to take part in the third, annual Pennine Lancashire 10K run, launched earlier this year by our very own marathon man, George Boyd.
The club staff have vowed to try and raise £10,000 in aid of the Gail Simpson Memorial Fund, through Pendleside Hospice.
Gail, a prominent club sponsor, sadly died of cancer last year.
Pendleside Hospice does a truly remarkable job at providing support and quality of life for people with life-limiting illness and their families, and Gail spent her final days with them.
Runners taking part on Sunday are: Anthony Fairclough, Carl Sanderson, Gary O’Neill, Chloe Simpson, Dale Robins-Bailey, Nick Taylor, Jez Minihan and Darren Bentley.
The runners have been assisted in their training by FX Fitness Experience, and the cumulative weight lost by all eight will be placed into rucksacks and carried by the team for the length of the 10K course!
