Burnley’s Youth team are seeking another friendly in Austria after seeing the opening game at their training camp washed-out.
The Clarets had been due to face Chelsea’s FA Youth Cup winners at the start of their 10-day visit to Obertraun before a rainstorm (pictured above), moments before kick-off, put paid to the plans.

The Blues have since flown home, leaving Burnley’s youngsters to settle for an intensive run before soaking in the local lake, ahead of an afternoon session where they played each other in a 9 v 9 training game.
And defender Vashiko Dixon explained the disappointment in the Clarets camp.
He said: “All footballers should have the mind-set that anything could happen. This obviously isn’t the first time this has happened and with the weather looking bleak before we warmed-up, it was in the back of our minds that the game could be in doubt, so we had to continue our pre-season fitness doing something else.”
Youth team staff are now searching for a local opponent as the Clarets hope to take part in two more fixtures before heading home on Friday, August 7th.
