Belgian striker looks forward to the big kick off...Jelle Vossen was delighted to open his Clarets account at the weekend, and warned fans not to worry about the result.
The Clarets striker took just 36 minutes to get on the scoresheet in Saturday’s 4-2 defeat at near neighbours Accrington Stanley.
And Vossen insisted the workout was just another step towards building up the fitness levels for the upcoming Championship season; now just 19 days away.
The Belgian international said: “It was nice to play a game after a very hard training week. The result is not the most important thing because it was another good training session.
“It’s always good and positive to score early, but it’s unimportant as it’s still pre-season.
“It’s all about getting some rhythm and getting used to the games and there are still a lot of things to work on, but there are still three weeks to go.
“I think we will be ok in a couple of weeks and now I can’t wait for the season to come.”
Clarets Player will have an interview with Jelle later this morning, along with Sean Dyche's reaction to the Accrington defeat.
