Burnley have been dealt a blow with the news that Irish defender Kevin Long has been ruled out for the remainder of the Premier League season with a cruciate knee injury.
Long, who recently agreed new terms with the Clarets, suffered the injury 21 minutes into his Premier League debut at Newcastle on New Year's Day.
Amd following scans, Burnley manager Sean Dyche confirmed: "It is bad news for Kevin.
"We thought it wasn't a great situation when we first saw it live.
"Unfortunately he has done his cruciate and is going to be out for a number of months, as we know through Sam Vokes' recent injury.
"He knows he will get taken care of though here and he knows the journey he will be on, so we wish him well on his recovery and we will make sure he is supported throughout."
