Clarets Challenges 2015

28 January 2015

Your chance to have some fun, keep fit and raise cash for local charities.

Burnley FC in the Community are delighted to launch ‘The Clarets Challenges’.

These four fundraising activities will take place throughout 2015 to raise money for the club’s official charity, Burnley FC in the Community, and other locally-based charities.

All these challenges are open to any individual to join up to and to help make a difference.

The first challenge will take place in May, with The Big Away Day Bike Ride; a week-long cycle ride from the West Ham United v Burnley game at Upton Park on May 2 to the KC Stadium to see Burnley take on Hull City.

In June, the challenge is on to complete the Pennine Lancashire 10k run and in September, the team will embark on the #Snowdon Walker’; a trek up the highest mountain in Wales!

Finally, in October, the African Adventures challenge will commence, with a group of volunteers heading to Woe in Ghana to carry out community development work in the area.

Neil Hart, Head of Burnley FC in the Community said: “The Clarets Challenges are the perfect way for fans to get involved with supporting the local community.

“Not only will they be great fun, they offer a personal fitness challenge to those taking part and an opportunity to really make a difference.

“We’ve made sure there’s a real scope to these activities so that there’s something for everyone to get involved with and all money raised will be split 50/50 between our own community projects and other charities based in Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale.

“I’d urge those who would like to take part to sign up soon as we only have limited spaces!”
