Sam Vokes says the Clarets can’t wait for the trip to Loftus Road as they look to get back to winning ways in the Sky Bet Championship.
Burnley’s nine-game unbeaten run was ended in the Lancashire derby against Preston North End last weekend.
But with a busy festive period coming up, Vokes, who returned to the side last week after injury, is looking forward to picking up valuable points.
He said: “It was a disappointing result last week and we felt like the performance was there so it was frustrating.
“But the Championship throws it up and it’s a good chance to bounce back against QPR on Saturday.
“They’re two big away games with Middlesbrough on Tuesday as well but every game in this division is big.
“It’s two tough places to go but we’re looking forward to trying to pick up some big points.”
The Wales international bagged a brace the last time the Clarets met QPR in the Sky Bet Championship away from home. That enthralling encounter ended up in a 3-3 draw with both sides vying for promotion.
And the 26-year-old striker is anticipating another tough test in the capital against a team buoyed by the arrival on Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
“QPR are familiar opponents as we’ve in some close battles with them over the last couple of years. It’s a place that with the new manager coming in we’re looking forward to going down to.
“I’m sure they’ll have a boost. When a new manager comes in everyone wants to impress again.
“We won’t be looking at that too much, we’ll be focusing on ourselves and going down there to pick up points.
“I don’t think there is any pressure. We put that on ourselves internally to get back to winning ways and get results.
“Before the international break we were on a good run and if we can get back to that, picking up results, then the confidence will come again.”
