Sean Dyche has called for an immediate response from his players to the Boxing Day defeat at Hull.
The Clarets go into Monday’s Turf Moor clash with Bristol City looking to seal their first double of the season.
And boss Dyche admits the Robins’ visit is an “important game” as Burnley look to bounce straight back to winning ways.
He said: “It’s about how we respond. Lately, we haven’t always got what we deserve. We’ve had a few things go against us that are out of our control and at Hull there weren’t radical things wrong.
“You just have to take your chances when you do create them, particularly away from home.
“At the end of the day you have to get on the right side of the margins and in recent weeks we’ve not been able to do that.
“We haven’t taken as many chances as we’d like, band defensively one or two have gone in too easily.
“The unpredictability of this division is it doesn’t owe you anything. You have to be right every time and this is another very important game.
“If you are on an awkward run, like the one we are on, you have to make sure you take care of business, so it’s up to us to put the points on the board and playing at home adds to that incentive.
“We like playing at the Turf. The players enjoy it and the players, enjoy it.”
