The Asda Foundation are the latest organisation to come on board and back award winning Burnley FC in the Community.
The local store on Princess Way in Burnley, through their charitable foundation, have provided funding of £10,000 to support Burnley FC’s community minibus.
The minibus will be used on a daily basis to transport participants across the region who are engaged in a wide variety of community projects, from those with disabilities to individuals engaged in employability programmes.
The cheque was presented by Dave Holmes, husband of Michelle Holmes, who was Asda’s Community Champion and assisted Burnley FC in the Community in obtaining the funding. Michelle sadly passed away a short time ago.
Joining Dave in the presentation was Store Manager Michelle Lomax and colleagues from the store who presented the cheque to staff and participants from the Danny Ings Disability Project.
Neil Hart, Chief Executive Officer of Burnley FC in the Community, said: "“We are absolutely delighted to receive this much needed funding towards our Community Minibus.
"Our thanks go to the Asda Foundation and the local Asda Store for all their support in making this happen.
"We are a self-financing charity who like any other charity require funding to undertake our work”.
