Sean Dyche insisted he was closing in on new targets as the Clarets look to add to their numbers.
The Burnley boss has made it clear the club has money to spend following their relegation from the Premier League.
And following the Capital One Cup defeat at Port Vale on Tuesday night, he hinted that several opportunities may be opening.
“We might be getting close. There are a couple of situations that have arisen.” he told Clarets Player.
“I think we have been very fair with the group and what they have to offer.
“We have been in the market as everyone knows and we will be in the market moving forwards.
“I have made it clear though, and our fans know this, that I try to remain as respectful in this strange business as I can.
“If you look down my history of being a manager, full stop, I choose not to speak about other people’s players because they are not mine.
“I still feel I speak for the club, not just for myself and the team and that’s an appropriate way of doing business.
“We are active though; that’s what I would say. Not just for one either, there are two or three others and different situations that we are looking to bring to life.”
