Loan Watch

12 April 2015

See how the Clarets out on loan fared this weekend in the Football League and Vanarama Conference

Clarets defender Danny Lafferty played the full 90 minutes, but was unable to prevent Rotherham United slipping to a 2-0 defeat at Middlesbrough.

The Millers were looking to follow up victory against Brighton & Hove Albion and pull further away from relegation danger.

But second-half goals from Lee Tomlin and Patrick Bamford put paid to those hopes and Steve Evans’ side now sit one place above the relegation zone, seven points clear of Wigan Athletic who occupy the last relegation spot.

Elsewhere, Alex Cisak played the full 90 minutes for loan side Leyton Orient as they had to settle for a share of the spoils against Crewe Alexandra.

Lauri Dalle-Valle opened the scoring for the hosts, before experienced forward Darius Henderson levelled for the O’s in the 1-1 draw.

Luke O’Neill was an unused substitute in the clash and Orient are now 19th in Sky Bet League One as they bid to beat the drop.

Jason Gilchrist was an unused substitute as Accrington Stanley got a 2-2 away at Cambridge United, courtesy of Seamus Conneely’s last minute leveller.

In the Vanarama Conference, Steven Hewitt played the full 90 minutes for Southport but was on the losing side as they fell to a 2-0 defeat at promotion-chasing Bristol Rovers.
