Flashback: Burnley 1-1 Arsenal

10 April 2015

Ahead of tomorrow's Premier League clash with Arsenal, we look back on their last visit to Turf Moor.

Graham Alexander’s 100th career league goal from the spot earned Burnley a deserved point last time Arsenal visited Turf Moor.

Cesc Fabregas opened the scoring after Andre Bikey had been caught in possession, firing low beyond the reach of Brian Jensen.

But Arsenal’s early superiority faded when Alexander drew the Clarets level on 28 minutes. Referee Mike Dean, who will also take charge of this weekend’s clash, pointed to the spot when Bikey was brought down by Thomas Vermaelen in the area.

And the spot-kick master drilled his penalty beyond Almunia to register his 100th career league goal and make it 1-1.

The Clarets were unlucky not to win the game on a night where Chris Eagles hit the woodwork with a powerful drive and Steven Fletcher had a goal disallowed for offside.
