Loan watch

22 September 2014

A look at how the Clarets players currently out on loan fared over the weekend.

Defender Luke O’Neill played the full 90 minutes as Scunthorpe United fell to a 2-1 defeat at home to Leyton Orient on Saturday. The defeat ended a run of three successive home wins for the Iron, two in Sky Bet League Two and one in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy. It was the 23-year-old’s seventh appearance in all competitions for the club, who sit 22nd.

Elsewhere, Tom Anderson made his debut for Lincoln City after joining the Imps on Friday on a one-month loan deal. The 6ft 4” defender replaced the injured Nat Brown in defence but was unable to prevent a 1-0 away defeat to Aldershot Town leaving Gary Simpson’s side 15th in the Vanarama Conference.

Forward Jadan Hall looks set to get his first taste of a cross-border derby for Chester against Wrexham tonight at the Swansway Chester Stadium.

Hall has started the past four games for his loan club and Burr’s side head into the game, which will be televised on BT Sport, in good spirits after beating Southport 2-0 last time out.
