Lukas Jutkiewicz admits he is frustrated with another goalless draw against Sunderland after the Clarets rued a missed opportunity to turn a point into three.
Jutkiewicz, who scored six goals in six pre-season games, is still on the hunt for his first Premier League goal.
But after a man-of-the-match winning performance from the striker in the goalless draw, he believes the goals will soon come if Dyche’s men continue to create chances in abundance.
Jutkiewicz said: “It’s a mixture really. I think we’re pleased with how we went about our business but at the same time we have frustrations.
“We had a number of opportunities that we could have taken to ensure we got all three points.
“The standard of play is very good but we’re just missing that final clinical finish that we need.
“It’s just not happening at the minute but that’s three clean sheets now and we’re really pleased with that and another point.
“We haven’t looked out of our depth at this level at all but it’s just that final bit of quality we’re missing.”
The former Bolton man spearheaded the attack with Marvin Sordell in the absence of Danny Ings and caused problems aplenty against the experienced duo of John O’Shea and Wes Brown.
And as he looks ahead to the trip to West Bromwich Albion next weekend, he was pleased to test himself against a defensive pairing with 12 Premier League winners’ medals between them.
The 25-year-old added: “They have played at the very top on European and Champions League nights and they have plenty of years in the Premier League.
“That is exactly why we want to be here to test ourselves against the very best players.
“It’s a huge game next week but they’re all huge so we’ll take the positives out of this game and turn our attentions to that one.”
