Luke O’Neill played the full 90 minutes as Scunthorpe United beat promotion hopefuls Peterborough 1-2 at London Road.

The victory was the Iron’s first under new boss Mark Robins and lifted them off the foot of the Sky Bet League One table and into 21st.

Meanwhile, Alex Cisak made his second appearance as York City earned three points away against Cheltenham Town at their Whaddon Road home.

A first half goal from striker Diego De Girolamo, his third in four games, proved the difference and secured former Clarets assistant manager Russ Wilcox’s first victory as Minstermen boss. The result leaves them 20th in Sky Bet League Two.

Young goalkeeper Danijel Nizic was also in action for Vanarama Conference North side Chorley as they came out on top 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller against Gainsborough Trinity. The newly-promoted Magpies have impressed so far this season, and Garry Flitcroft’s side sit 4th in the division.

Elsewhere, Tom Anderson made his debut for Carlisle United in Sky Bet League Two and played the full 90 minutes, but was unable to prevent a 3-0 defeat away at Portsmouth. The Cumbrians are now 22nd in the table.
