The Development Squad battled back from a goal down to win 2-1 at Nottingham Forest.
Goals from captain Steven Hewitt and Jason Gilchrist (pictured above) in both halves sealed the victory at Forest’s training ground on Tuesday.
Burnley couldn’t have had a worse start as Forest took the lead within five minutes.
Dexter Blackstock pounced onto a long ball from defence and looped the opener over Conor Mitchell with his outstretched toe.
However, that was the Reds’ only chance of the first half as the goal awoke the Clarets.
After constant bombardments of corners, the Clarets were awarded a penalty after Cameron Howieson was brought down in the area after a neat corner routine with Hewitt.
Hewitt duly stepped up to the mark and coolly slotted the ball into the top corner to put the Clarets back on level terms on the 15th minute mark.
Burnley continued to advance and Howieson impressed throughout with several through-balls to the forwards; one of which fell to second year scholar Ntumba Massanka, who had other options but hit the juncture of crossbar and post.
The same two combined again shortly later but this time Massanka dragged his shot just wide.
But following the half time introduction of Jadan Hall, Burnley soon took the lead.
With his first touch, Hall whipped in a perfect first time ball which fell straight to Gilchrist, who made no mistake from eight yards, glancing his header into the far corner on the hour mark.
As the minutes decreased, so did the chances, with neither side having a shot on target for the remainder of the game as the Clarets sealed their first win since a 3-0 victory over Fleetwood Town in September.
The Development Squad are back in action on Tuesday, November 11 when they make the trip to Sheffield Wednesday in a 1pm kick-off.
Burnley: Mitchell, Daly, Whitmore, Hobson, Conlan, Howieson (Galvin 78), Lowe, Hewitt, Hill (Frost 67), Massanka (58), Gilchrist.
