Sam Vokes has spoken of his joy at being named SkyBet Championship Player of the Month.
Five goals in February were enough to see the in-form Clarets striker awarded the gong for the first time in his career.
Vokes’ domestic tally for the season now stands at a career-best 18 going into Sunday’s big East Lancashire derby at Blackburn Rovers.
And for the 24-year-old insists the award is one of the highlights of his professional career.
Vokes said: “It tops off a great month for myself and the club and it’s right up there with my other achievements; it’s massive.
“It’s the first time I’ve got Player of the Month and it’s been a good month for us picking up some good results home and away.
“It’s clearly a big honour for myself, but also for the performances me and my teammates have put in.”
