Ross Wallace added another 75 minutes of action to the tank ion his return from injury as Burnley’s Development Squad lost 3-1 in an action packed 90 minutes at Liverpool
The winger made his second appearance in a week after spending most of the season on the sidelines following knee surgery.
And Wallace almost sealed his return with a goal as the Clarets started well against the Reds.
Following an early foul on Jamie Frost in the area, the Scot saw his penalty brilliantly palmed away by impressive Liverpool goalkeeper, Danny Ward.
Burnley eventually took the lead in the 23rd minute thanks to a calm finish from striker Jason Gilchrist, after the ball fell to him following some good pressure from Kevin Ly.
However, the second penalty of the game resulted in Liverpool levelling the scoreline before half time, as Michael Ngoo made no mistake.
Following a couple of chances for the Clarets in the early stages of the second half, Liverpool grew momentum and scored their second of the game bang on the hour mark after a smart build up and a deft finish over Daniel Nizic.
Liverpool killed the game off six minutes later after a poor clearance from the Australian goalkeeper which landed straight at Dunn's feet and he made no mistake from 10-yards out.
