Burnley’s catering manager Chris Gibson is set to join a group of avid cyclists and former Watford and England international Luther Blissett in a fund-raising bike ride across the channel.
The intrepid cyclists, along with club officials, volunteers and loyal fans from across the Football League, are set to undertake the gruelling London to Amsterdam Challenge, which takes place between June 6-8, 2014 to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.
And you can help, by either taking part, or sponsoring Chris and the Clarets’ contingent, which includes Commercial Operations Manager Carl Sanderson and club sponsor Ross Sheckleton.
Chris is looking for riders to take part and also sponsors to help raise vital funds for charity.
By taking part, you will be sending the message to the world about of one of the biggest man killers in the UK - and raising money to find reliable tests and treatments for the future for a disease that kills over 10,00 men a year.
A dedicated team to support your every move of the ride, from signing up to crossing the finish line at AFC Ajax, will be there. Coaches will also be there to help you train the right way and help with fundraising.
The ride is 150 miles long and will commence at Leyton Orient’s Matchroom stadium, leaving London and travelling through rural English countryside, cycling 90 miles and crossing the channel at night before arriving at the Ajax Stadium on June 7 and arriving back in the UK via Eurostar.
