Burnley supporters plan to show their support for former defender Clarke Carlisle at Turf Moor on Boxing Day.
The club and its supporters were stunned to hear that Clarke, who played over 150 games for the club, was seriously injured in a road traffic accident on Monday.
Clarke was today (Tuesday) reported to be “very poorly, but alive and stable” in a Leeds hospital.
And in show of collective support for the 2009 Wembley hero, fans have asked the club to support one minute’s applause in the fifth minute (Clarke wore shirt number five at Turf Moor) of the Premier League game against Liverpool on December 26.
The club is happy to support this and all our thoughts are with Clarke, wife Gemma and family and friends at this distressing time.
