Life in the Clarets hot-seat is about to get a little bit sweeter for manager Sean Dyche – thanks to the efforts of growing Nelson firm REM.
The company, which specialises in designer furniture and equipment for the hair and beauty industry, has branched out to create bespoke seats for the Turf Moor dug-outs in time for the new Premier League season.
And one of the first opposition managers to get to try out the firm’s new seating will be Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.
REM’s link with Turf Moor came earlier this year when Financial Director Chris Blakey – a keen Clarets fan – came up with the idea of producing beds for the club’s physiotherapy department in the club’s colours.
“When physio Ally Beattie came to our showrooms and saw the beds we had in mind he took one look and said he’d take six, three for the training ground at Gawthorpe and three for the Turf!”
Then on a visit to Turf Moor to sort out the details on that deal REM sales director Mick Roach spotted that the dug-out area was being redeveloped – the rest is history.
