Burnley manager Sean Dyche has praised the ruthless attitude of his players ahead of Saturday’s Turf Moor clash with Middlesbrough (Kick off 15:07).
The Clarets sit second in the Championship, 11 points clear of third place Derby, making this weekend potentially pivotal one.
And the Clarets boss stated that his side’s successes so far this season have been due to hard work, on and off the field.
He said “The players have been relentless in their nature.
“They work very hard on the training ground on a daily basis, and I always say if you do that properly, when that whistle blows you are ready to perform.
“Equally, it doesn’t guarantee us anything. It just means we’ll be in good shape to perform again, particularly on the back of another good result at Barnsley.”
However, Dyche insists he is not taking a Middlesbrough side that has won their last three games for granted, as his side look for another potentially huge three points.
He added: “I think all the games have been huge this season. I don’t over-think each one as it comes, I just look at the next challenge and that’s Middlesbrough.
“They’re a good side that has probably under-achieved, looking at their squad on paper.
“Football’s not won on paper of course, but I think they’ve got a real good squad and the manager has got his points across slowly but surely.
“Their recent form has been very good and we can’t underestimate that.
“I think it’s fair to say that over the season we’ve been very clear-minded in not under estimating anyone.
“We think that the players get all the information they need in order to deliver a performance, and that’s what we’ll be looking to do again.”
