Sean Dyche was full of praise for his players following another huge win for the Clarets against Barnsley.
An Ashley Barnes header proved enough to earn all three points and put Burnley 11 points clear in second place in the Championship with just five games to go.
And the Burnley boss was pleased with how team conducted themselves against a difficult Barnsley side battling for points at the bottom.
He said “The tactical shape of the team, the professionalism, the energy, the belief and the work ethic was on all show.
“We knew we had the quality to affect the game. And we arguably could have killed it off with a couple of moments when we probably should’ve got a second.
“You have to be professional about the way you go about your performance. They really put it on top of us second half and we had to deal with that.
“And we had really good moments of counter attacking play.”
Dyche was also delighted with the way his defensive line kept Barnsley out, to register 18 clean sheets for the season so far.
He added “We never really looked in trouble, I thought the back four were outstanding and Tom (Heaton) did what he had to do when he needed to do it.
“I’m really pleased with the defensive framework of the team, as I have been since I’ve been here.
“We just had to find that balance with that and an attacking threat, and how the players work from that defensive framework in order to attack. And I think that’s developed as the season has gone on.
“We know we can win games in different ways. I told the players in pre-season how important that is to have that in your locker.
“And I thought that was on show tonight. when it needed to be tactical, when it needed energy, belief, spirit and moments of quality we delivered it again!”
