Burnley manager Sean Dyche today congratulated three of his promotion winning players after being named in the PFA Championship Team of the Year.
Clarets Captain Jason Shackell who has been part of back line that has registered 21 clean sheets this season, Kieran Trippier who has 14 assists and Danny Ings, the club’s top scorer with 25 goals, were all voted by their fellow players at the annual PFA end of season awards last night.
And Dyche believes the accolade is one of that can be shared by the entire squad, in what has been a record-breaking season for the Clarets.
He said: “It’s another fantastic marker of a great season to have three players chosen by their peers to be in the team of the year.
“It’s a great achievement for the players, and testament to what the entire squad has achieved this season.
“I can only imagine it was a close vote for a number of others in our team.
“If you could look at the vote count, you would probably see there would be a few more of our team that would be close to getting in as well.”
