Dyche: Roar Us To Victory

12 September 2013

Sean Dyche hopes the Turf Moor roar can help spur his side on to victory over old foes Blackburn Rovers this weekend.

The Clarets host their Lancashire neighbours in a high noon showdown at Turf Moor on Saturday.

And with local bragging rights on the agenda for both sets of fans, Clarets boss Dyche hopes a packed Turf Moor will make the difference.

He said: “We have been good at the Turf, particularly this season and the more people we can get in there, the better the atmosphere we can generate and it will be a wonderful thing, so come down and support us.

“The biggest thing I recall from the Blackburn game last season is that the fans were amazing in backing the side here.

“We went one goal down, but they continued to support the side and we got that late fantastic equaliser that raised the roof.

“Support is valuable anyway, but of course in the big games you want them all here to help you get the job done.”

The Clarets have no new injury worries ahead of the game, with only Ross Wallace sidelined while Michael Kightly stands by for a baptism of fire.

And Dyche feels victory over Rovers would be another important step in taking the club forward and building a one-club mentality.
He added: “It’s a great game to look forward to; almost an event and something that turns into more than a game.

“I have learned that it means more than just a win to supporters on both sides.

“But we just need to give a performance that can hopefully get three points.

“We are building something here and it’s taken some months to get it growing and this is just another piece in that jigsaw.

“It’s a bigger piece because of the feel of the game, but it’s still only three points.

“Good performances usually bring their rewards and that’s the main thing I am focusing on.

“We think we have done some good work and put in some good performances and we are in good a shape and long may that continue.

“But a win, after the start we’ve had, would be very welcome.”
