Skipper wins fans Player of the Month award
Jason Shackell won the Clarets Player of the Month Award for October, voted for by readers of NoNayNever.net and the Burnley Express.
The captain won 31% of the fan vote following a month which saw the Clarets win all four league games, conceding just one goal in the process.
Kieran Trippier, who provided a number of important assists, came second with 16%, closely followed by Tom Heaton, Scott Arfield, Danny Ings and Sam Vokes. In total twelve players received nominations for October, making it the most widely contested vote to date.
Shackell is the third player to win the award in three months. Danny Ings took the the August award, while Sam Vokes was given the honour for September.
The NoNayNever.net / Burnley Express Player of the Month award is voted for by Burnley supporters at the end of each month, on their respective websites or by using the #claretspotm hashtag on Twitter.
Voting for November's award will open immediately following the final whistle at the Huddersfield game on the 30th
