The Clarets’ Youth Team stretched their unbeaten run to three games in the Youth Alliance after comfortably beating Preston 4-0 at Gawthorpe.
Burnley were on top from the start and it was no surprise when they took the lead, when Evan Galvin slotted home from close range in the 18th minute.
Preston fought back, but Terry Pashley’s men comfortably dealt with everything that was thrown at them to go into the break a goal to the good.
And again Burnley were the better side in the second half.
A wonder free-kick from Nathan Lowe from 30-yards out, five minutes into the half, doubled Burnley’s advantage and opened up the flood works.
Right-back Waqas Azam made it three eight minutes later after a wonderful solo effort, beating a man and dropping his shoulder before unleashing a strike past the North End keeper.
And wide man Bradley Jackson rose well above his opposition defenders to nod in the fourth of the game after some fine wing play from Christian Hill.
