Frontman extends loan stay with Brewers
Alex MacDonald has extended his loan spell at Burton Albion to continue to help their promotion push.
The Clarets’ forward started six games for the League Two side during his first month’s stay at the Pirelli Stadium.
And the deal has now been extended to keep MacDonald with the Brewers until 8 May.
That would make the 22-year-old, whose existing deal at Turf Moor expires in the summer, eligible for both legs of a potential play-off semi-final.
However, MacDonald, who also spent a three-month stint on loan at Plymouth earlier this season, would not be able to stay on for the final with the scheduled date beyond the 93-day maximum permitted.
Burton, who have lost only one of their last eight games, face promotion rivals Cheltenham Town at the Pirelli Stadium this afternoon.
