New signing looks forward to home debut
New boy Alex Kacaniklic is relishing the prospect of his Turf Moor debut as he bids to build on his winning start in a Burnley shirt.
The Sweden international helped the Clarets beat Charlton last Saturday less than 24 hours after completing a loan move from Fulham.
And Kacaniklic now hopes to back that up by over-coming Barnsley tonight to keep Sean Dyche’s men climbing up the table.
“It’s always special to play at home,” said the 21-year-old midfielder.
“I am looking forward to the game and hopefully scoring some goals for Burnley.
“I think Saturday was a big win. You could just tell the whole team was working hard together to get the win. We defended and attacked well and it was an important win.
“The guys said they have played well but not won the games (recently), so now we have won people are really happy.
“If you look at the table it’s tight at the bottom and for the play-offs so if you get on a run and win a couple of games you are up there.”
Kacaniklic joined the Clarets after making 19 first-team appearances for Fulham this season.
And the former Liverpool youngster is keen to build on that experience and help Burnley progress between now and the end of the campaign.
“The more you play the better you get and I have played a lot of games at Fulham,” added Kacaniklic, who trained with his new team-mates for the first time on Monday.
“I want to play as much as I can and I am here to win games. I want to score goals and set up goals and I am looking to do it.
“It’s a happy club and the players get on well with each other so it’s easy for me to fit in.”
