Michael Duff insists Sunday's derby needs no hype.
Determined defender Michael Duff is adamant that Burnley can create history at Ewood Park this weekend.
The Clarets head to Blackburn Rovers on Sunday looking for a first competitive victory against their old foes in 34 years.
Head to head!
And Duff, who is no stranger to the East Lancashire derby, believes the blood-and-thunder game against out-of-form opponents could be just what Burnley need to end a disappointing recent run of results.
Duff said: “The players recognise how big Sunday is. We don’t need to be told.
“We had the first game at Turf Moor and probably should have won it, but we did well top get a result out of it and it would be nice to go to their place and turn them over.
“It’s probably not a bad game for us to go into really. It’s a derby and up-and-at-‘em type of game.
“Form goes out of the window in derbies and we’ll have 4,000 there behind us, so it’s not a normal game.
“We need to realise that we can play a little bit as well and if we can do that, I think we will come away with a result.”
