Loan move for Clarets' teenager

8 February 2013

Anderson seeks to give Hyde a defensive lift

Tom Anderson is to get a second taste of Blue Square Premier football after joining Hyde United on a month’s loan.

The Clarets’ defender links up with Turf Moor team-mate Shay McCartan at Ewen Fields following McCartan’s temporary move to the Tigers last week.

Anderson could make his debut against Macclesfield Town on Saturday afternoon - subject to the completion of the paperwork - as Hyde look to pull away from the relegation zone.

The 19-year-old had been tracked by the Tameside club for a number of weeks following a successful spell on loan at AFC Barrow during the first half of the season when he started 18 games for the Bluebirds, including a 0-0 draw at Hyde.

But his move was delayed as the former youth team player was required as cover at first-team level at Turf Moor, making it as far as the bench for the first time for the Clarets’ Championship win at Millwall in January.

Anderson becomes the third young player to move out to gain senior experience, with Steve Hewitt also on loan in the Blue Square Premier with Alfreton Town.
