SEAN Dyche is licking his lips at the prospect of a Capital One Cup showdown with Preston North End.
But the Clarets boss insists all thoughts of a blood-and-thunder derby clash are now on a back-burner as the Clarets look to following up their opening day draw with a good result at Sheffield Wednesday this weekend.
Dyche said: “It’s an eye-catching draw and a good one for everyone. I was there at the Preston v Blackpool game on Monday and I am sure there will be another good atmosphere at Turf Moor.
“But there’s plenty no the meantime to concern ourselves with, the immediate one begin Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, but it will come along naturally and we look forward to it.”
Dyche, who revealed the Clarets will again be without Ben Mee and Michael Duff at Hillsborough this weekend, added: “We feel we’ve gone into the season in a positive manner with a good result against Bolton and a very good one for large spells of the game at York.
“So there are very good signs, but plenty more to come. We are not vast in numbers, but the players know us a little bit better and equally we know them.
“But we’re only two games into the season and we’re showing good signs at the moment.”
