Canadian flies home for birth of first child
David Edgar will miss Burnley’s final league game of the season after flying back to Canada for the birth of his first child.
The Clarets defender has been granted compassionate leave as his fiancée is due to give birth this coming week.
Burnley boss Sean Dyche confirmed: “David asked if he could go home and I have absolutely no issue with that because family always comes first.”
Edgar, who signed off at Turf Moor with the equalising goal against Cardiff City in the penultimate home game, will now return to pre-season training in late June, following his expected summer involvement in Canada’s CONCACAF Gold Cup fixtures.
