Defender in running for Molineux clash
Burnley could be boosted by the return of Michael Duff for Saturday’s crunch clash at Wolves.
The Clarets defender has missed the past six games after injuring himself in the derby day draw at Blackburn Rovers.
But the stalwart could yet play a part at Molineux as Burnley go in search of the victory that would ensure Championship football next season and push Wanderers a step closer to the relegation trap door.
Manager Sean Dyche confirmed: “Ben Mee is touch and go and I doubt he will be ready for the weekend, but Michael has more of a chance after training this week.”
Dyche, whose side currently sit four points clear of the relegation places at the head of a quartet of clubs on 55 points, added: “We want it done and we deserve it to be done quite frankly.
“But you don’t get anything without working for it.
“We can all see the table and we know the point last week (v Cardiff) means the three clubs on 51 points have to win both games.
“That is not impossible, but it’s an ask – and that’s presupposing we don’t (win).
“I think everyone who is just into that 55 point bracket will be thinking the same, but we are not naive.
“We get it and we all know that teams can win games on any given day.
“So we’ll prepare properly, we get ready for another big game and the two to go with clear thoughts on the job in hand.
There will be more from Sean Dyche and striker Danny Ings on the official website on Friday ahead of the Molineux clash.
