Mee and Duff injury fears allayed but Marney returns
Burnley defenders Ben Mee and Michael Duff are unlikely to be fit for Saturday’s game with Bristol City
However, midfielder Dean Marney may be in contention for a return against the Robins after missing six games with a calf tear.
And relieved Clarets boss Sean Dyche revealed the injuries sustained to Mee (knee) and Duff (calf) are not as bad as first feared.
The gaffer said: “It was a shame for Ben. He has had rotten luck and now has another slight twist.
“We have had it checked though and it’s not as serious as before, but it will still take days to settle down.
“Michael is coming out of his niggly calf problem, so we’re hoping that settles down.
“It’s probably too early for the weekend for him, but ongoing beyond that because we have the week’s rest before the following game at Blackpool, so we will see how he settles down”.
Dean Marney: fit again!
Elsewhere, the Clarets will be without winger Dane Richards for the visit of City, following the Jamaican’s loan move to Norwegian Division Two side FK Bodø/Glimt.
