Clarets unsaddle title chasers

8 April 2013

Sub not used: Jakovlevs.
Burnley: Mitchell, Dummigan, Nugent, Whitmore, Holt, Ly (Lowe 60), Daly, Jackson (Massanka 75), Hill, Frost (Bianga 80), Nuttall.

However, Nuttall made amends two minutes after the restart with a through ball that Frost clipped nonchalantly over the advancing keeper.
And they had the chance to take in interval lead when Christian Hill was fouled in the penalty area, only for Lewis Nuttall’s resulting penalty to be well saved by the Saddlers keeper.
Terry Pashley’s youngsters were looking to bounce back from successive defeats at the hands of Shrewsbury Town and Rochdale.
Jamie Frost’s chip, early in the second half, proved decisive in a game the Clarets dominated at Gawthorpe.
Burnley Youth team bounced back to winning ways with a well-earned 1-0 victory against title-chasing Walsall.
