Ben Back For Bloomfield Clash

11 April 2013

Dyche to welcome back defender Mee for derby day

BEN Mee is pushing for a starting role as the Clarets head to Blackpool this weekend looking for a derby double.
The Clarets defender missed the home clash with Bristol City after limping out of the Nottingham Forest clash with a twisted knee.
But as Sean Dyche’s men look to add a Bloomfield Road victory to October’s home victory, the Burnley boss hopes to have the left back available for selection.
He explained: “Ben has had a good run this week to get over his injury.
“His knee has settled down again. We didn’t think it was a serious one, so he’s what I would call a positive-maybe.
“Michael Duff is probably not quite there though. He probably needs more time and other than that it’s just knocks and bruises.”
The Clarets head to the seaside in good form, having lost just once in seven games.
Pool, meanwhile, are still anxiously looking over their shoulders with points needed to secure their Championship survival.
And Dyche admits he is looking forward to another blood-and-thunder Lancashire battle at Bloomfield Road.
He added: “We’re looking forward to it. We go in good shape to a club who are battling to get as many points on the table as they can.
“The Lancashire region is still relatively new to me, but I know how important these games are for the fans.
“I was immediately bombarded about the Blackburn situation, so it’s pretty fair to say I know quickly!
“Blackpool are a very experienced group and we won’t underestimate them. Overall it’s probably fair to say that most people in the Championship would think they would be middle and up.
“It hasn’t panned out that way, but it is a very strange Championship this year and we are all working hard to put the points on the board.
There will be more form Sean Dyche and Sam Vokes on the Blackpool game on the official website from Friday morning…
A reminder that Burnley have sold their entire allocation of 1,700 tickets for Saturday’s game. Full match commentary will be available on Clarets Player from 2.45pm, online and through the Football League App to all subscribers.
