Clarets join forces with E-cig firm to help stop smoking at Turf Moor

Burnley Football Club has joined forces with Totally Wicked E-Liquid to try and stamp out smoking at Turf Moor.
The club has signed a two-year stand sponsorship deal with the electronic cigarette company, whose name is emblazoned on the Bob Lord Stand.
The two parties have combined forces to hold a dedicated no-smoking day, where Burnley FC supporters will be encouraged to swap a cigarette for an electronic version that replaces the smoke with a vapour.
The club has recently installed smoking pens outside the stadium exit gates on match days in order to comply with football legislation, with the aim of providing a smoke-free atmosphere and eliminate passive smoking within the confines of the stadium.
Totally Wicked will target these areas to encourage smokers to surrender traditional cigarettes and try ‘vaping’ an electronic cigarette.
Anthony Fairclough, Director of Commercial Affairs at Turf Moor, said: “We are delighted to confirm the sponsorship deal with Totally Wicked, who are a local company committed to helping smokers switch to an alternative form of recreational nicotine.
“There is a mutual benefit to both Totally Wicked and ourselves if we combine forces to try and stop the problems of cigarette smoke affecting non-smokers at Turf Moor, and the alternative on offer will hopefully benefit all supporters.
“We are conscious of the problems within the stands by fans illegally smoking cigarettes and contravening the stadium regulations. In tandem with Totally Wicked we feel we can approach this problem with a viable alternative and we look forward to working together on this and a number of future initiatives.”
Totally Wicked work tirelessly to deliver quality and variety in the e-cigarette sector, offering products in the UK and internationally, with the result of these efforts being a very loyal and extremely supportive customer base.
Fraser Cropper, Totally Wicked’s Business Director said: “We have the confidence to be original and we believe Burnley Football Club shares similar values to ourselves in terms of its character and ambitions, whilst recognising as its number one responsibility its customers.
Totally Wicked, an electronic cigarette company established in 2008 by a Lancashire entrepreneur currently has three retail shops in Lancashire, including one in Burnley.
It also has a thriving online business, is openly committed to investment into the local community, and has built business relationships with the University of Central Lancashire as well as a range of local companies, such as a Clitheroe engineering firm that produces the first ever UK manufactured electronic cigarette.
“We have worked hard to be successful and now we want to give back to the community that has helped it to grow,” added Mr Cropper. To support this initiative Totally Wicked are producing a claret and blue Burnley FC disposable electronic cigarette, which will be made available at the ground at a selected match fixture.
