Tony Philliskirk's side ran out 3-0 winners over Wigan Athletic at Christopher Park at the weekend in the U18 Professional Development League, after a dominant second-half display.
Three second half goals from Jayden Major, Mitch George and Ben Woods secured all three points for Burnley on the road.
It was a very even first half, as neither side really got going at Wigan’s training ground.
And half-time saw U16 striker Michael Mellon replaced by second-year scholar Major, who has recently spent time out on loan at Steeton FC.
It was the former Liverpool striker that broke the deadlock as well, after neatly firing home Matty Rain’s low cross from the left just 10 minutes into the second half.
Just 15 minutes later Burnley had a second, this time George converted a lovely header into the bottom corner, as the sun beamed down in Wigan.
Despite a flurry of chances from the home side, it was the visitors that struck again, this time in injury time.
Midfielder Woods picked up the ball from just outside the box and curled home a third of the afternoon to put the game out of reach.
