Tony Philliskirk's side were held to a 1-1 draw this morning (Saturday) against Bolton Wanderers, at the Barnfield Training Centre.
Mitch George gave Burnley the lead just 15 minutes into the match on a crisp morning in Burnley, before Bolton snatched an equaliser from a corner just after the hour mark.
The Clarets started brightly and came close when captain Chris Conn-Clarke saw his fierce strike on goal saved by the Wanderers goalkeeper.
However, shortly after Burnley took the lead, as George pounced on a loose ball inside the box and fired in the opener.
Just before the break, Bolton had an opportunity to pull the scores level, as the visitors were awarded a penalty.
But U16 goalkeeper Sam Waller, on his debut fot the youth team, parried the spot kick away, before gathering the rebound.
However, just after the hour mark, Bolton had their equaliser from a corner, as the towering defender rose highest to head home.
Philliskirk's side had a flurry of chances late on to snatch a winner, with the best opportunity falling to George, as the forward poked the ball just wide of the goal at the back post.
And substitute Corey Brennan then came close to snatching a winner, as his first touch saw him scoop the ball inches wide of the goal.
But despite Burnley's best efforts at clawing a late goal, Bolton held the Clarets at bay to ensure the honours were even.
