The U18s seven-game unbeaten run came to an end after falling to a 1-0 defeat at home to Bolton Wanderers
The Clarets, who had not lost since the opening day of the season, fell behind in the 18th minute, when Luca Navallo fired his free-kick into the top corner.
And despite dominating, the hosts could not find a way back into the game – albeit remaining top of the league by a solitary point.
Burnley started the game on the front foot and came close a couple of times with chances from Jordan Cropper and Tristan Jumeau.
However, it was the away side who took the lead when Navallo fired home a terrific free kick from 20 yards out.
A half-time change for Burnley saw midfielder Terry Mupariwa replaced by centre forward Michael Fowler to bolster the Clarets attack.
And Fowler came close when he surged forward into the area, before firing over from close range with an unmarked Cropper alongside him in the box.
The home side pushed for an equaliser late on, Cropper coming close as his effort from a tight angle could only find the side netting.
Despite Cadermarteri’s side best efforts, Bolton did well to keep Burnley at bay and hold on for all three points.
BURNLEY: Bruce, Moss, Clarke, Thomas, Mpofu, Jumeau (Samms 83), Kershaw, Yari, Trialist (Trialist 63), Mupariwa (Fowler HT), Cropper.
