Community Job Description
The Burnley Football Club Programme for Education, Sport and Society (BFC PESS) is the new charitable arm of Burnley Football Club. The Charity is seeking to appoint a Community Liaison Manager for a fixed term period of 12 months.
This individual will be committed to supporting the development of the strategic aims of the charity, which relate to the provision of activities to enhance, sports participation, health and wellbeing, social inclusion and community cohesion, education and lifelong learning and the environment.
The role will include working with the Chief Executive Officer of the charitable arm of Burnley Football Club in order to manage the delivery of school and community projects, with a particular focus on the Junior Clarets supporters club, as well as developing innovative and creative activities that will enhance the work of the Burnley Football Club Programme for Education, Sport and Society.
There will be an expectation that the Community Liaison Manager will undertake regular meetings with schools, grassroots football clubs and community organisations across East Lancashire in order to develop activities and programmes which are mutually valuable for the charity and its beneficiaries. Similarly there will also be a need to work with the Commercial, Facilities and Media Departments within Burnley Football Club as well as other Football Clubs operating similar schemes in order to raise the profile of BFC PESS.
The post-holder will be required to have an innovative approach to the strategic development of the charity and they will be expected to quickly deliver high impact events and programmes which will not only benefit the diverse communities surrounding Burnley Football Club, but also attract and sustain junior supporters to the club. Excellent administration skills will be a necessity and events management/project management skills as well as experience of managing budgets would also be beneficial.
This is an ideal opportunity to be involved at the early stages of development of this new charity, which is a unique model within the Football League, and impact on its future success. There is a possibility that this post will be extended for the right candidate who is able to demonstrate both impact and value for money and is able to secure resources that will help the organization to grow.
