Joe McKee signed his first professional contract at Turf Moor in June, 2011 after serving a two-year scholarship with the Clarets.
The attacking midfielder was given a squad number during pre-season after coming off the bench in Burnley's friendly at Oldham Athletic.
McKee joined the Clarets from Scottish club Livingston in August, 2009 after starting his career at Dundee United.
The Scotland under-19 international was the leading scorer in the Clarets' youth team in 2010/11 and a regular in the reserve-team squad.
