The young striker got his first taste of first-team football in the 2009/10 season with a loan spell at Grimsby Town.
His month-long stay also brought the former Liverpool youngster his first League goal.
Back at Turf Moor he continued to show his natural finishing ability, which brought him 40 goals at youth and reserve team level in 2008/09, with a strong finish to the reserve league season.
Ormskirk-born Fletcher, who joined the Clarets in 2007, will start the 2010/11 season with a new 12-month contract and the chance to make a further impact as one of Burnley's top young prospects.
