A left-footed, aggressive, ball-winning central midfielder, the Burnley-born played came through the Clarets' youth set-up after joining the club's Centre of Excellence as a nine-year old.
After progressing to the reserve team, Harvey signed his first professional contract at Turf Moor in the summer of 2009.
He was awarded another 12-month deal in 2010 and got his first taste of senior football during a loan spell with Fleetwood Town in March, 2011.
Harvey's was given another year's contract in the summer of 2011 and after playing a part in the Clarets' pre-season preparations was allowed to rejoin Fleetwood on a month's loan in August.
He then gained further first-team experience in the Blue Square Premier with a month-long loan move to Barrow in January, 2012.
