Burnley swooped to sign Danny Fox on a three-and-a-half year deal in January 2010 for an undisclosed fee from Celtic.

And the left-sided defender started his stay with the Clarets with a dream debut that saw him provide the assist for David Nugent's opening goal and then score a spectacular free-kick to earn Burnley a 2-1 win against West Ham United.

Fox went on to appear 14 times for Brian Laws' side in the top flight and he will be hoping to help the Clarets push for an instant return to the top flight in the 2010/11 season.

The 23 year-old left-back had spent just six months at Celtic after signing from Coventry City for a £1.5million fee in July, 2009.

Fox made his competitive Celtic debut against Dinamo Moscow in the UEFA Champions League qualifier and made 15 league appearances for the Hoops in the 2009/10 season, with his last outing coming in a 1-1 draw with Rangers in January.

Comfortable at left-back and in midfield, Fox was capped at under-21 level for England but qualified to play for Scotland due to having a Scottish grandfather and was awarded his first full cap by George Burley in a 3-0 defeat by Wales at Cardiff in November, 2009.

Cheshire-born Fox had started his career with Everton before moving on to Walsall in 2005, playing over 100 games and helping the Saddlers to the League Two title in 2006/07.

He then moved to Coventry in January, 2008, and was regarded as one of the best young defenders in the Championship. He was voted in the PFA divisional team of the year for 2008/09 and also won the Sky Blues' Players' Player of the Year award for the same season.
