Stephen joined the Clarets on a free transfer as the fourth signing of the 2007/08 close season.

An injury plagued 2008/09 campaign saw the left full-back play just over half the games for the Clarets.

The rock-solid defender put in a number of man-of-the-match performances when fit although he found himself battling it out with Christian Kalvenes for the left-back position for the majority of the season.

A product of the Manchester city youth academy, he made his way through the ranks after joining in as a teenager in 2000. His first league game came when he was loaned out to Cambridge United in 2002.

Jordan made 11 appearances for the U's before returning to the club he supported as a boy at the end of the season.

He made his first team debut for Manchester City in April 2003 at the Reebok against Bolton Wanderers, coming on as a late substitute. However he had to wait for over a year to make his first start for the Citizens.

This came against recently promoted Norwich City in November 2004, aged just 22.

Facing stiff competition for a preferred spot at left back, he became a first team regular and was rewarded with a new two-year extension to his contract after making 24 appearances in the 2005/06 season.

Unfortunately, an ankle injury against West Ham in an FA Cup forced him out of action for the rest of the season.

Jordan returned to make over 10 league appearances during the 2006/07 season and in total made 51 appearances before being released at the end of the 2006/07 campaign.

He chose to put pen to paper on a three-year deal with the Clarets.
